We all know how it goes – the temperatures drop, the to-do lists pile up, and before you know it you’re lying in bed at 3am wondering where the night went. Well fret no more friends, Coach Dan’s here to share his crash-proof routines that’ll have you feeling relaxed like a champ in no time flat.
First things first – ditch the caffeine after noon. I don’t care if it’s just one cup of joe or an energy drink, that stuff will keep you revved up for hours. Turns out what doesn’t get ya wired also doesn’t keep ya tired – who knew?
Next up, try this visualization exercise I cooked up – lay back, get comfy, and for 60 seconds imagine all that holiday stress just meltin’ away. Picture it leaving your body like ice in summer. Feel the tension unclench from your muscles and joints. Breathe deep and feel yourself unwind.
When that’s done, do some light stretching. Nothing fancy, just move each limb through its range of motion. Roll those shoulders, tilt the neck side to side, point and flex the toes. Getting the blood flowin’ will help you relax from the inside out.
Finally, if your mind’s still racing, grab a pen and paper. Jot down everything you need to do the next day so you stop stressin’ about forgetting it. Once it’s on the page, it’s off your mind. Then set the paper aside, turn on some soft sounds music, and surrender to sleep.
