Okay folks, Coach Dan here with another no-nonsense relaxation technique for you. Ain’t got time for lotus positions or Tibetan singing bowls, we’re just gonna take roll call of the bod and loosen those muscles up.
Too many people walk around like they ain’t even living in their own bodies. Always telling the muscles what to do but never stopping to listen to how they actually feel. Well that’s gotta change if you wanna relax like a champ. So sit your butt down somewhere comfortable and do a full scan, head to toe. Feel up your scalp with your fingers – any tight spots up there? Don’t just poke around nonchalantly either, really press and feel. Then work down your face – we all hold a ton of stress in the jaw and around the eyes, so pay attention there.
Once you’ve got the noggin taken care of, move to the neck and shoulders. Chances are they’re carrying around a lot of tension. Spend some quality time rolling the shoulders, lifting and lowering the chin. Get those knots out. And don’t forget about the back muscles neither! Slide your hands up and down, pressing in to find any trouble areas. Nothing wrong with using a foam roller or tennis ball to massage problem zones either.
End with a scan of the arms, hips, legs, and feet. Pay attention to reactions – any ouchy sensations mean those muscles need some love. Once you’ve identified tight spots, just breathe. In through the nose, out through the mouth, really push the air into sore muscles as you exhale. Hold for a count if needed. Within minutes, you’ll feel loosey-goosey all over. No apps, no yoga – just you and your body listening up. Relax like a champ starts from the inside out, people. Now go roll call that bod!
