Simple crafts/repairs to keep hands busy and mind occupied. Bonus – you save cash. December can breed boredom like rabbits if you ain’t careful. Sittin around watchin overly cheery Hallmark movies will have ya reachin for the eggnog – and we all know what too much of that stuff does!
That’s where a good ol’ fashioned DIY project comes in. Nothin clears the cobwebs like usin your hands for somethin productive. I’m talkin projects you can knock out in an afternoon for little or no moolah.
Got an old picture frame hangin around that could use some TLC? Give ‘er a light sandin’ to strip off the old finish, then slap on a fresh coat of stain. Pick a bold color to really make it pop. Voila – brand new decor item and your fingernails ain’t full of polish!
What about that wobbly chair or table that’s been buggin’ ya? A little wood glue is all ya need to mend those loose joints. Clamp it tight overnight and you’ll barely notice where it was broken. Better yet, tackle that creaky cabinet door while you’re at it.
Got a stack of old clothes layin around that could use new life as cleaning rags? Cut them puppies up with scissors instead of buyin’ a fresh bag of rags. Spruce up your cleaning caddy and call it a day.
The point is, keep those hands busy with simple projects that don’t require any special skills or tools. Clear your mind of holiday nonsense and flex your creative muscles. Who knows, you might even discover a hidden talent! Your wallet and sanity will thank ya for it.
