All right folks, Coach Dan back at ya with some more straightforward stress relief techniques that’ll actually work, not like all that hoity-toity yoga breathin’ babble. Remember what I said last time – simple is best when it comes to relaxin’.
Well here are three go-to breathing exercises I recommend any time you need to chill your jets pronto. No equipment needed, just find a comfy spot and give ’em a try.
- The first is just basic Inhale for 5 seconds, hold for 2, exhale for 7. Do 5 rounds to mentally reset. Nothin’ fancy, just slow controlled breaths. It’ll calm your nervous system down before you know it.
- Next, try Inhale through your nose, then exhale long and slow through pursed lips like you’re whistling. The long exhale is key to releasing tension. Do this 10 times focusing on that out breath.
- Finally, there’s Take a big belly breath in through your nose, then sigh it all out through your mouth like you’re deflating. Let all your air out until your lungs are completely empty. Repeat 10 times for instant stress relief.
Remember, at first just focus on your breaths. No distractions. Don’t try to “empty your mind”, just watch those inhales and exhales. You’ll be amazed at how much calmer you feel after just a few minutes.
